The Japan Strategic Readiness Program (JSRP) was built by an operator, not a trainer — someone who has sat under global HQ pressure inside Japanese organisations, and applied that pressure from the other side. That second chair is the one most Japan advisers have never occupied.
The career, told sideways
Most Japan advisers describe the table from one seat. This practice exists because its founder has spent a career alternating between both.

The seat where head office's strategy arrives — and has to be turned into something a Japanese organisation can actually adopt.

The seat that asks Japan to move faster — and learns why pressure alone never works.
The pattern from both chairs is the same: deals do not fail on culture. They stall in decision pathways that neither side has described to the other. JSRP is the method built from having navigated those pathways — in both directions.
Why this practice exists
Japanese organisations bring long-term commitment, quality discipline and formidable execution — alongside inward decision-making and an aversion to visible risk. European organisations bring speed, directness and accountability — and often too little patience for the consensus that makes Japanese execution reliable.
A career spent inside both systems leads to one conclusion: asking either side to become the other produces neither. What works is making each system legible to the other — the stakeholders, the decision pathways, the risk logic — and then designing a shared way of operating that both sides can actually run.
That is what this practice does. Not culture lessons. Working design, on live engagements.

Based in The Hague — working in European time, inside European organisations, on Japan-facing work.
Who you will work with
Every engagement is designed and delivered by the founder. That is a feature, not a limitation — the person who diagnoses your case is the person who works it.

Your first point of contact from enquiry to engagement — scheduling, materials and coordination across time zones.
This advisory practice is the B2B arm of Sakura Japanese Workshop, The Hague — an organisation dedicated to the working connection between Japan and Europe, from language education to execution advisory. The two operate as separate services with separate teams and materials.
